All the professional life, having come to work upon termination of postgraduate study of the Crimean agricultural institute in 1965 in Institute efiromaslichny and herbs (before VNIIEMK), Leonid Grigoryevich devoted to scientific researches of institute in the field of selection of efiro-olive cultures, and in particular – the favourite to a rose.
In 1968 Leonid Grigoryevich protected the master’s thesis, in 1987 – doctor’s. Many years this persevering scientist directed laboratory of selection of long-term efiromaslichny cultures. Together with the next assistants, colleagues in its scientific search by Leonid Grigoryevich the grades of an efiromaslichny rose included in the State register of grades of plants of Ukraine – "Rainbow", "Fallow deer", "Aura", "Lada" were created.
Leonid Grigoryevich Nazarenko – the academician of the Crimean Academy of Sciences. Many forces are given them to work on the publications, the devoted problems of selection of favourite culture. The scientist published more than 130 scientific works, including books A rose efiromaslichny, Culture of an efiromaslichny rose, Selection of a rose efiromaslichny, Efiromaslichnoye a rozovodstvo, Efiromaslichnye, aromatic and herbs and others. Leonid Grigoryevich Nazarenko’s latest book now prepares for the publication Efironosa of the South of Ukraine, and it means its scientific life goes on.
L.G.Nazarenko was the passionate popular writer of pryanoaromatichesky and efiromaslichny cultures. For sections cultures and Perspective aromatic and herbs in the handbook Crimean field husbandry in 2000 to it together with coauthors the rank of the Winner of an award of the Autonomous republic Crimea was appropriated to Efiromaslichnye.
Leonid Grigoryevich was remembered as very kind and sympathetic, intelligent, delicate and extremely modest person. It always generously shared the wide experience with young employees and graduate students, willingly assisted and advised not only the staff of Institute, the experts working in the sphere of efiromaslichny production, but also simply people, the interested efironosami.
Memory of Leonid Grigoryevich Nazarenko as about the outstanding scientist and the remarkable person will live for many years in the hearts of the staff of institute and everything who was lucky enough to adjoin to it on the course of life. And Leonid Grigoryevich’s scientific works already forever took a place in a treasury of a selection science under a signature stamp To store eternally.
