Ukraine and Syria plan to develop scientific cooperation in agrarian branch.
The relevant agreement was signed on June 7 in Damascus following the results of the 4th meeting of the joint Ukrainian-Syrian intergovernmental commission on questions of trade and economic cooperation.
According to the first deputy minister of an agrarian policy of Ukraine Ivan Demchak, this program provides cooperation in such spheres of an agricultural science, as an exchange of genetic resources in plant growing and animal husbandry, selection of firm grades of wheat with the raised maintenance of a protein, selection of vegetable and fruit crops, seed farming of a sugar beet with the high content of sugar, removal of new animal species, development and production of antiviral and antibacterial vaccines in animal husbandry, development and use of mathematical modeling in an agricultural irrigation of fields, etc.
The agreement provides that scientific cooperation will be carried out both by an exchange of knowledge and information, and by carrying out scientific conferences, mutual implementation of the international and regional projects, training and an exchange of experts.
The agreement was signed by representatives of the ministries of an agrarian policy of Ukraine and Syria, and also heads of the Ukrainian academy of agrarian sciences and the General commission of scientific researches in the sphere of agricultural industry of Syria.
