The crop on the area of 20-25 thousand hectares is already reaped. The minister of an agrarian policy Yury Melnik reported about it.
“On 20-25 thousand hectares for today it is mown and threshed grain” – he told.
According to the minister, the harvest began for 5-6 days earlier, than last year. While passes collecting three cultures – winter barley, a winter rape and peas.
“Of the processed 20-25 thousand hectares of 90 % makes winter barley” – the Miller added.
As the minister noted, the harvest passes in the Odessa and Nikolaev areas, and also in the Crimea.
The miller emphasized that intensive obmolot wheat will begin in the south of Ukraine in the first of July, regions – leaders on collecting wheat will begin a harvest in the second decade of July.
Let’s remind that according to Goskomstat, in Ukraine for June 2 of the current year it was sowed 16,1 million hectares (taking into account resowing of victims and long-term herbs) that for 4,5 % is less than indicator for June 1, 2007.
The area under crops of grain and leguminous crops (without corn) made 4,94 million hectares that for 20,7 % below an indicator of last year, including the areas under barley made 3,35 million hectares that for 23,7 % below an indicator of 2007.
By a preliminary estimate, the total area under crops of winter and summer crops on the crop’s eve of the current year will make 25,7 million hectares that on 0,4 million hectares (for 1,4 %) is less, than in 2007. In structure of a cultivated area all grain crops will make nearly 60 % against 58 % last year, sunflower – 15,9 % (14 %), a sugar beet (factory) – 1,5 % (2,4 %), a rape winter – 6 % (2,9 %), potatoes – 5,5 % (5,7 %), vegetables of open soil – 1,7 % (1,8 %).
According to data of agricultural enterprises (except small), from 8 million hectares winter on grain and a green forage, poseyanny in the autumn of 2007, 253 thousand hectares (3,2 %), from them 110 thousand hectares (1,7 %) – winter on grain (for June 1, 2007 the share of victims winter made, respectively, 3,3 % and 3,1 %) were lost.
