The winter of 2005-2006 caused a huge damage to long-term crops. and in the summer all inhabitants and guests of the Crimea, felt on themselves a rise in prices for fruit. It appeared that it is better if there are many Crimean peaches, apples, pears and other, usual fruits for us, but it is bad, when it is necessary to buy at the fabulous price delivered of is far. As a result such fruit habitual for us became for krymchan inaccessible and it is too expensive.
It was pleasant to see our local wild strawberry which bushes remained in the winter under snow in the markets and weren’t lost, and in the spring yielded a harvest.
And what raspberry? It is not accepted to cover at us it. Didn’t cover this winter it and we. The main test consisted that frosts were unusually strong and plus to that, extremely long. In the spring disturbed thought that a crop of this berry we will not see in general.
However though separate stalks also froze, but the main their part postpenno began to revive. In the beginning green escapes were pale, grew slowly, but then revived, on them there were buds, after berries were stuck. And raspberry yielded a harvest.
If to compare productivity on years, this year it made on my site about 70 % from the potentially possible. And berry was the normal sizes, good taste.
However, it is necessary to note that fructification ended a week earlier and fructifying two-year escapes began to dry up before the usual. Winter frosts after all affected. But in whole the culture showed that is capable to resist to a frost, passed test.
I want to share the supervision over separate grades. Stalks of a grade of Heriteydzh, but a grade remontantny completely froze and young escapes gave it in the autumn good give birth, berry tasty, isn’t scattered, beautiful by sight.
The Indian summer sustained frosts and gave two crops. Stably fructify Novokitayevsky, Shosha. But the main grades which give many years a stable crop were and remain Canadian and Hungarian. Bushes of these grades stood literally covered with large, equal, very tasty berries not being rumpled at collecting.
More than ten years I get and I test on the site various grades of raspberry, but it is better, than Canadian and Hungarian to me yet didn’t come across.
Negative experience is interesting also. On one of exhibitions bought a grade Diamond. By sight the sapling was good, but only having started grow, at once was gone. The same occurred to this grade and at my acquaintance. Most likely at storage sellers overdried roots. At the same exhibition bought a grade Big Carriage. Got accustomed, but developed within two years very poorly and when my patience burst, decided to get rid of it. When dug out, it appeared that on roots a huge outgrowth of a bacterial cancer. It was necessary to change also the earth round this place. After all a cancer – an infectious, incurable disease. As at an exhibition, bought a grade the Bryansk miracle. About it wrote in the Ogorodnik magazine and other editions. Wrote that it has a large berry and in general it is unusually good. And it appeared that berry not such and large but very gentle, is rumpled. Generally no miracle, especially good in it is present anything. Also it is only a few examples.
Such grades on my site some tens visited. The best option in this situation will be – to arrive in the summer and to look at a crop, to taste berries. If, of course, there is such possibility.
To those fans who plan to grow up or already grow up on the sites raspberry I want to give advice: don’t hope to receive a good harvest, having planted at itself what got a grade, to be exact it is not known that, having neglected it. Also don’t leave impassable thickets somewhere in a site corner.
Regular watering is very important for raspberry. It is necessary to water not less often than once a week in the summer. The fertile soil and by all means accurate ranks with a garter of fructifying stalks to a lane are obligatory. Otherwise good luck not to see.
