The Department of Economic Affairs of Ukraine offers according to the obligations taken by Ukraine to the World Trade Organization (WTO) to lower rates of import duty for meat, milk, myasomolochny products, production flour-grinding krupyanoj the industries, fish, alcoholic and soft drinks, tobacco products.
The corresponding bill is placed on the official website of Ministry of Economics.
The document, in particular, assumes reduction of an arithmetic-mean rate of import duty by meat and food interiors from 21,5 % to 13,3 %, milk and dairy products – from 24,8 % to 10,1 %, production flour-grinding krupyanoj the industries – from 23,4 % to 18,5 %, on ready-made products from meat, fish and rakopodobny – from 17,3 % to 9,8 %, on alcoholic and soft drinks – with 23,9 to 13,62 %, on tobacco and tobacco products – from 25,2 % to 9,8 %.
As it is noted in the explanatory note to the bill, the majority of foodstuff in Ukraine is affected by a prohibitive rate of import duty that promotes their clandestine importation.
According to authors of the document, decrease in rates of import duty will allow not only to carry out of the international obligations of Ukraine, but also to satisfy demand of the Ukrainian consumers for some types of production as saturation of domestic market by exclusively own food doesn’t provide stability of the prices for food.
