The transgenes we do not notice

Article establishes the existence fact in many foodstuff of genetically modified components.

Many foodstuff contains genetically modified components whereas legislations which should supervise their use, in the country aren’t present in Ukraine. The chief of the Research center of approbation of production "Ukrmetrteststandart" Vladimir Semenovich reported about it. It presented results of research of laboratory of molecular and genetic researches according to which in 18 of 42 casually selected foodstuff the maintenance of a GM-soya exceeded 3 %. Thus as a part of nine of them availability of soy protein was noted at all. For this research the most widespread products (sausages, pelmeni, porridges of fast preparation, baby food etc.) were taken which were bought in supermarkets of Kiev in the usual way. According to informal data, in 2005 of 45 % of crops of a soya in the territory of Ukraine were crops of transgene soya. Besides, thousands hectares were sowed by genetically changed potatoes, corn, tomatoes and other plants.
