The potato moth – is the butterfly of silver-gray color damaging paslenovy cultures. The mol postpones eggs in deepening of eyes, in cracks of tubers. The caterpillars which have left eggs take root into tubers of paslenovy cultures, making courses and leaving in them characteristic white excrement. A caterpillar of flesh-colored or yellowish-green color, length of 10-13 mm, with a black head and chest feet. To find this caterpillar it is possible on bags, boxes and on potato tubers.
In 6-7 days from dolls there are adult insects. In storages development of a moth goes constantly and continuously. And as a result the crop of a potato quite good, at first sight, appears completely lost.

At storage of a crop it is important to support a certain air temperature (plus 10-12°C). The best conditions protecting production from damage, are created at temperature plus 3-5°S. If there is no possibility to store potatoes at the lowered temperatures, process it a biological product lipidocid. Processing is better for carrying out in day of cleaning, immersing the selected intact tubers in 1 % suspension for 4-5 minutes. Then tubers need to be dried up in a shadow and to place on storage.
If you found out that all crop put on storage, is already damaged by a potato moth, touch it. Keep only the whole, intact tubers. All damaged lay in a hole on depth of 1-1,5 m, pour a chloric lime, then cover with earth. But consider that by no means it is impossible to leave such potatoes on seeds – will lose also future crop too. Also don’t use a site on which potatoes infected with a potato moth until be convinced grew that it is cleared of this wrecker.
