The material acquaints the reader with the reasons and methods of prevention of death of newborn young growth.

In the first days after the birth the cases of calfs which are often coming to an end with their death are frequent. The main reasons for death of newborn young growth – a metabolic disorder as a result of defective feeding of telny cows, a skarmlivaniye of substandard forages, absence of physical exercise and violation of veterinary health regulations of cultivation of calfs.

At a sick calf in the first days after the birth note a frequent defekatsiya, rare, often watery, kcal. Thus there are symptoms of toxicosis, in Calais there can be impurity of blood, excrements get a putrefactive smell, it is possible to observe spasms, oppression, a confluence of eyes, an organism of a calf is quickly dehydrated, thus body temperature more often within norm if the illness isn’t connected with an infectious disease at which the temperature can quickly raise to 40-41 °C.

Treatment of calfs with signs of a diarrhea is necessary for beginning with a diet. Replace one (for calfs of three-day age) or two-three (for seniors) vypoyka of colostrum with giving warm (38-40°C) salt solutions, infusions of herbs, etc. After that, it is necessary gradually, since 0,5-0,75 l, to pass to a skarmlivaniye of the colostrum dissolved of warm 0,5 %-nym with solution of salt.

Treatment of diarrheas at calfs broths and infusions from a yarrow usual, a sorrel horse, a sage medicinal, a St. John’s Wort ordinary and camomiles is effective. To give broths from herbs 2-3 times a day in a hungry diet, later – in 30 minutes prior to a colostrum vypaivaniye with antibiotics are necessary in a dose of 10 ml on 1 kg of weight of a calf.

It is extremely necessary to prevent life-threatening dehydration of an organism for what it is expedient to use solution of salts, for example: 5 g of chloride sodium, 0,25 g of chloride potassium, 19,75 g of glucose on 1 l of water. Besides, it is possible to enter salt solutions hypodermically, intravenously, to do intra belly introduction. The amount of solution depends on degree of dehydration of an organism: at insignificant dehydration (loss of 2-5 % of weight of a body, at a satisfactory general condition and normal body temperature) in a day use 2-2,5 l, at considerable (loss about 10 % of weight of a body, an eye sunk down, the temperature is reduced) – 4-4,5 l.

At treatment of sick calfs for neutralization of pathogenic and putrefactive microorganisms use antimicrobic preparations. So, at the rate on 1 kg of weight of a body give diareksa – 0,2 g, tribrisena – 0,12 g, sulfagina – 0,-0,5 g, xlortetraciklina and an oksitetratsiklina-hydrochloride – 0,015-0,022, ftalazola – 0,015-0,03 g, gentamycin – 1,3 mg.

At the same time it is necessary to apply gastric juice, Pancreatinum to restoration of function of gastroenteric system, etc. And here for activization of active strengths of animals it is expedient to use solution of globulins, citratov blood, etc. The good effect at treatment of gastroenteric diseases of young growth gives use of acidophile bulyonny cultures, and also dietary feeding – good-quality milk. And here rough forages for treatment need to be excluded from a diet.
