In this publication it is a question that in Ukraine since May 1, 2008 the international standards defining methods of identification of GMO and their derivatives in foodstuff will start to operate. It is fixed by the relevant order of the State committee on questions of technical regulation and consumer policy No. 62. Standards also will come into force: GSTU CEH/TS 15568:2008 and GSTU ISO 21569:2008 (food. Methods of identification of genetically modified organisms and their derivatives). Standards will come into force also: GSTU ISO 24276:2008 and GSTU ISO 21571:2008.
Ukraine will introduce marking for production containing gennomodifitsirovanny organisms, after that as the effective monitoring system will be created.
