Article is devoted to production of biofuel from rape oil. In it it is said that for providing landowners with biofuel, the rape is necessary for cultivating on the area of 3 million hectares. In Ukraine the areas under a rape gradually extend and new technologies of its cultivation take root.

In recent years in Ukraine began to pay much attention to rape cultivation
In recent years in Ukraine began to pay much attention to rape cultivation. So, in 2004 gross production of seeds made about 204 thousand tons, in 2005 – over 286 thousand tons, in the current year are predicted to receive to 700 thousand tons.
As the director of the department of technical providing Minagropolitika Ukrainy N. Datsenko notes, in Ukraine it is most expedient to develop biofuel from rape oil as the greatest product yield with 1 hectare gives a rape. Now in our country some shops of private form of ownership on production of diesel fuel already work.
According to N. Datsenko, the state should guarantee providing financial grants to those agricultural producers which are engaged in rape cultivation for the long-term period. The powerful source of raw materials for production of a biodiesel engine will be only this way created.
Cost of production of biofuel is influenced essentially by raw materials cost – rape seeds. Today small plants in Ukraine use own raw materials, so – receive it at prime cost (600-850 UAH/t). But such small enterprises provide only the needs. Large-scale production of biofuel is possible after introduction in action of large plants in capacity of 30-100 thousand tons of biofuel in a year.
It is necessary to note that now the rape price at the exchanges, taking into account costs of storage, transportation, intermediary services of the purchasing organizations, taxes and other factors, in 1,5-2 times above, than prime cost.
For ensuring full requirement of agricultural producers in biofuel it is necessary to develop to 1850 thousand tons of biofuel. For ensuring such amount of biofuel the rape is necessary for cultivating on the area of 3 million hectares at productivity of 25 c/hectares. In Ukraine average productivity of a winter rape in 2005 made only 18,2 c/hectares.
In recent years in Ukraine the areas under a rape gradually extend and new technologies of its cultivation take root. N. Datsenko also reported that production of a rape increased in Ukraine everywhere, even in droughty regions of the Crimea, the Odessa and Zaporozhye areas.
