Leonid Boyko from Hersonshchina comes, was born and grew in the village, among kovylny steppes, in an environment of everything that makes a country life: horses, cows, pigs, hens, geese, weft and … pigeons. The pigeon passion was carried by by Leonid Leonidovich Boyko in the heart in years of service in army: having persuaded the commander, got pigeons in barracks garret, in years of service in the Crimean militia: persuaded the chief to give it a shabby room under a dovecot.

On a visit to Leonid there arrived from Vinnytsia the vice-president of All Ukraine association of post sports pigeon breeding Gennady Marchenko. Leonid acquainted me with this interesting person historian, the descendant of Cossacks Zaporozhye and passionate the golubevody – the professional. Leonid Boyko when I asked it, whether it is favorable to be engaged in pigeons at us in the Crimea, answered shortly:

Has the right to tell so: the person who in the 90th years was the president of the Crimean association of fans of birds, then the treasurer of the VKGL All-Union golubevodchesky association and the first president of pigeon sports in Ukraine, was the delegate of clubs of sports pigeon breeding at their many congresses.

Now Leonid Leonidovich heads the Crimean association of sports post pigeon breeding of "Foros", as a part of which such known in the Crimea golubevody, as Souleymane Sarychev from Hoshkelda, Igor Vasilyev from Belogorsk, Andrey Shishimorov from Kurtsov, Leonid Dmitry’s son and others. The association supports close contacts with golubevodami from Lviv Mikhail Bordun and Evgeny Paty, in Melitopol – with Vladimir Lavrentyev, in Lugansk – with Sergey Kushnarev, in Moscow – with Anatoly Sakayan. These communications considerably filled up the Crimean flights with a pochtary breeding bird of known races in Europe.
