In 2005 in Ukraine there was profitable a production of milk and pork. According to preliminary data Goskomstat, profitability of production of milk in the Ukrainian agricultural enterprises last year made plus of 12,6 % against a minus of 0,4 % in 2004, meat of pigs – plus of 14,4 % against a minus of 14,4 % in 2004.

Positive changes of profitability of production of milk are fixed in 11 regions, pork – in 17 regions of the country.

Also in 2005 level of profitability of production of fowl (to 27,1 % from 3,8 % in 2004) and eggs (to 24,5 % and 15,2 %) essentially increased. Production of fowl was profitable in 10 areas of Ukraine, production of eggs – in all regions.

At the same time, production of a number of types of cattle-breeding production in the country remains unprofitable (without surcharges and grants for cattle and a bird). In particular, profitability of production of cattle in 2005 made a minus of 25 % (in 2004 – a minus of 33,8 %).

A little unprofitability of production of meat of sheep and goats – to a minus of 36,5 % (in 2004 – a minus of 44,3 %) decreased.

In too time profitability of production of grain in Ukraine decreased.

On preliminary results, level of profitability of production of grain in agricultural enterprises of Ukraine decreased about plus of 20,1 % in 2004 to plus of 3,4 % in 2005.

Such decrease in GKS explains growth of expenses on production of grain crops – from 314,4 UAH/t in 2004 to 354,9 UAH/t in 2005 – thus that the price of realization decreased according to 453,1 to 417,8 UAH. for ton.

Decrease in level of profitability of grain is noted in all areas, the most essential – in agricultural enterprises Volynsk (about plus of 43,4 % to a minus of 0,5 %) and Rivnensky (about plus of 31,2 % to a minus of 2,9 %) areas.

In 2005 production of grain in 12 regions of Ukraine (from a minus of 7 % to a minus of 0,5 %) was unprofitable.

In 2005 in Ukraine 38,02 million tons of grain, including 18,7 million tons of wheat were collected. In 2004 these indicators made 41,8 million tons and 17,52 million tons respectively.
