More and more gardeners again open for itself almost forgotten taste of high-quality tomatoes which were grown up by their ancestors. Many of these unique grades were on the verge of disappearance and survived only thanks to efforts of amateur truck farmers which kept seeds of rare tomatoes and shared them with neighbors and friends. If you grow up high-quality tomatoes (not hybrids), we advise also to you to keep seeds of the favourite grade and to descend them the future generations. Besides, having chosen the best, healthy fruits from a tomato bed, you will manage to "finish" over time the favourite grade according to your taste and climate.
1. How to take seeds. Take slightly overripe fruits, cut half-and-half and let out seeds in bank. Each sunflower seed is covered with the jellylike film preventing germination in a fruit. That seeds sprouted the next year, it is necessary to remove a film by a fermentation (sbrazhivaniye). Besides, process of fermentation will destroy bacterial diseases transmitted with seeds.
2. As sbrazhivat seeds. To bank with seeds deliver for three days in garage or any other room with room temperature. Don’t leave to bank at home: at fermentation the unpleasant smell is allocated!
3. How to remove a mold. In three days on a surface of liquid there will be vials and the thick layer of a mold is formed. Add in bank of water and remove a mold.
4. How to separate viable seeds. Stir , properly, a mix a spoon. Viable seeds, that is what need to be kept, will fall by a bottom.
5. How to take seeds. Carefully merge a mold and the seeds floating on a surface. Then again stir contents banks and again remove foam – and so several times while in bank there are no only good seeds. Pour out the liquid rest in a metal strainer – on it there are viable seeds.
6. How to dry up and keep seeds. Seeds can be laid out on a plate or to suspend in a gauze sack for drying. At least once a day needs to be stirred them, that they dried evenly. When seeds properly will dry out, pour them into an envelope or a box, inscribe and clean in a dry cool place prior to the beginning of a new season.
