The Crimean state agrarian educational advice center owns extensive library in which literature on agrarian subject is collected, using it when training for the village by 49 professions and providing information and consulting service of fifteen educational and consulting branches (offices) and branch of scientific and technical information and consultation of agrarian and industrial complex of the Autonomous Republic Crimea.
In a library stock of the Center 1222 sets of posters are 18121 copies of educational literature and methodical grants, electronic textbooks, educational elements, kodopozitivov. Every year the library replenishes with new books. The center regularly subscribes for 116 periodicals of Ukraine, the Crimea and Russia.
Modern libraries are a harmonious connection of traditional and new electronic resources. Developing promptly quickly, they demand ordering, preservation, the solution of problems of corporate use.
This year in the Pike perch there passed the fourteenth International Conference the Crimea 2007 on a subject Libraries and information resources in the modern world of a science, culture, education and business. Here the Center got integrated automated library and information system IRBIS. It represents the standard decision in the field of automation of a library stock and is intended for use in the conditions of libraries of any type and a profile.
System IRBIS is focused on work in local computer networks of any type without restriction of number of users.
Thanks to this system our Center will have possibilities:
– to expand and support a database, making the electronic catalog (EK);
– to create electronic dictionaries on the basis of which fast search in any elements of the description and their combinations is realized;
– to process and describe any kinds of editions, including nonconventional, such as audio-and video data, computer files and programs, cartographic materials and educational elements and others;
– to support traditional "paper" technologies by means of which to receive a wide range of target forms, including all types of catalog cards, sheets of the order and the book of the total account;
– to support graphic data and full texts of documents.
By means of this system the Center can communicate with all libraries of the Crimea and Ukraine, with such as library of Taurian National University of Vernadsky, the Crimean republican universal scientific library of I.Ya.Free, Library of university of economy and management, with National academy of nature protection and resort construction and others.
Use of new information technologies in library does access to information more operative and convenient.
