In this article it is a question of return to Ukraine of grades of grapes of outstanding selector P.Ya.Golodrigi. Also the short description of some grades is provided.
The AMPELOS FIRM is 15 YEARS old
In April, 2008 scientific vnedrencheskoj to Ampelos firm 15 years were executed. The firm was created for the purpose of further studying and return to Ukraine that part of a genofund of the outstanding selector, doctor biological naukPavla Yakovlevich Golodrigi which remained in collections of the North Caucasus.
Annual inspections of grades and grapes forms in various ecological conditions against various limiting factors (An epifitotiya of mushroom diseases, extreme low temperatures, a drought, etc.) convinced us of exclusive value of new grades and hybrids on the main agrobiological signs and in need of acquaintance with them probably bigger circle of specialists wine-growers in Ukraine. For this purpose we created collections in those farms where interest to new grades was shown. A big role in a further agrobiological and technological assessment of grades and in their promotion GP Livady, GP Privetnoye and GP Sea collections (NPAO "Massandra"), GP "Gardener" (JSC Alkadar, Sevastopol) played, JSC Radsad (The Nikolaev area), a collection in Zakarpatsadvinprom and others.
For years of work in a gossortoispytaniye of Ukraine and Russia we transferred grades: Risus, Bukovinka, Rubin of Golodrigi, Oleg, Livadiysky black – wine; the Muscat of Golodrigi, Gurzufsky pink – universal; Amateur, Chocolate, Livady’s Muscat – grades for fresh consumption. A number of forms still there pass tests.
The main signs on which selection is conducted – quality (the technological assessment of new grades was carried out by a microwinemaking method under the direction of known wine makers L.I.Shleygera and Century F. Kocyury. Experts of NPAO "Massandra", JSC Alkadar, Goseksperttsentrov Kryma took part in tastings and Ukraine. Known wine makers academicians of Valuyko, N. M. Pavlenko, V.A.Zagoruyko, E.P.Sholts-Kulikov highly appreciated quality of wine materials from some new grades. Efficiency and stability to adverse biotic (diseases and wreckers) and abiotichesky (low temperatures, a drought) to environment factors, optimum terms of maturing of these grades were noted.
Now all above-named grades are entered into the Register resolved for industrial use in Ukraine, costs of their landing are compensated by the state.
We provide the short description of grades below.
Risus (Riesling x Seyv Villar 12-309). Wine grade of average term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. Cluster cylindrical and tsilindrokonichesky, winged, dense, average mass of 220 g. Berry average, roundish, greenish-white, at a perezrevaniye with a rozovinka. Thin skin strong, elastic. Pulp juicy. Taste pleasant grades similar to taste Riesling. Productivity high (150-200 c/hectares) and stable, sugar content of juice of berries – 18-22 g/cm3, acidity – 9-11 g/dm3. Bushes silnorosly, the rod grows ripe very well, optimum loading – 60 eyes on a bush at a scrap on 4-6 eyes.
The grade is characterized by field stability to a phylloxera, mildyu, gray decay and maintains temperature fall to – 26°S. It is recommended for preparation of dining rooms and sparkling wines and high-quality cognac alcohols.
Table wine from grade grapes Risus has the straw coloring, well developed bouquet of a grade the Riesling, fresh harmonious taste.

Bukovinka (Pukhlyakovsky x Zeybel 13-666). Wine grade of average term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. Cluster cylindrical and tsilindrokonichesky, dense, average mass of 206 g. Berry average, roundish, white. Thin skin strong, elastic. Pulp juicy. Taste pleasant harmonious with soft muscat aroma. Productivity – 150 c/hectares at sugar content of juice of berries 20-28 of g/cm3 and acidity of 7-9 g/dm3. Bushes silnoyorosly, the rod grows ripe well. Optimum loading – to 40 eyes on a bush at a scrap on 3-4 peepholes.
The grade is characterized by field stability to a phylloxera, mildyu, gray decay, oidiumu and maintains temperature fall to – 230S. It is recommended for preparation of high-quality dining rooms and sweet wines. Sweet wine from Bukovink’s grade has light-golden coloring and easy tokaysky tone, characteristic for wines from grades Gars Levelya and Furmint.

Oleg (Podarok Magaracha x Traminer pink). Wine grade of early average term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. A cluster cylindrical, average and small, sometimes with a small wing, dense, average mass of 180 g. Berry average, roundish, serovato pink with intensive the pruiny. Thin skin thin and strong. Pulp fleshy and juicy. Taste pleasant with bright high-quality aroma of a muscat and a kazanlyksky rose. Productivity – 100 c/hectares at sugar content of juice of berries 22-26 of g/cm3 and acidity 5ú/dm3. Optimum loading – to 40 eyes on a bush at a scrap on 3-4 peepholes. Bushes of moderate force of growth, rod ripening the good.
The grade is characterized by field stability to mildyu, oidiumu, gray decay. According to preliminary data has the increased stability to a phylloxera and a frost.
Tasting assessment – 7,9-8 points.
Ruby of Golodrigi (Ruby Magaracha x M 6-68-27). Wine grade of srednepozdny term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. Cluster average, tsilindrokonichesky, winged, average density, average mass of 210 g. Berry average, roundish, black with intensive the pruiny. Thin skin thin and strong. Pulp juicy. Taste pleasant, high-quality with weak aroma of a nightshade. Productivity – 140-150 c/hectares at sugar content of juice of berries 21-24 of g/cm3 and acidity of 9-11 g/dm3. Bushes of average force of growth, rod ripening the good. Optimum loading – to 50 eyes on a bush at a scrap on 2-4 peepholes.
The grade is characterized by field stability to a phylloxera, mildyu, gray decay, oidiumu and maintains temperature fall to – 26°S. Differs a high technological stock of painting substances in a thin skin.
It is recommended for preparation of high-quality ekstraktivny dining rooms, strong and sweet wines. Wines possess intensive and stable coloring.

Livadiysky black (To Megra Vaagas x Magarach 124-66-26). Wine grade of early average term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. The cluster cylindrical, is more rare tsilindrokonichesky, winged, average density, average mass of 250 g. Berry average, roundish, black with intensive the pruiny. Thin skin thin and strong. Pulp juicy. Taste pleasant with delicate aroma of a muscat and a kazanlyksky rose. Productivity – 140-150 c/hectares at sugar content of juice of berries 21-26 of g/cm3 and acidity of 7-8 g/dm3. Bushes of average force of growth, rod ripening the good. Optimum loading – to 30 eyes on a bush at a scrap on 2-3 peepholes.
The grade is characterized by field stability to mildyu, gray decay, oidiumu, maintains temperature fall to – 27°S and, according to preliminary data, has the increased stability to a phylloxera.
It is recommended for preparation of high-quality light and harmonious sweet wines with tones of a muscat, chocolate, prunes.

Muscat of Golodrigi (Queen of vineyards x Magarach 124-66-26). Universal grade of early term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. Cluster average and large, conic or tsilindrokonichesky, winged, average density, average mass of 300 g. Berry is more than average, slaboovalny, white, at complete maturing – amber. Thin skin thin, strong, elastic. Pulp very juicy. Taste pleasant, harmonious, with strong muscat aroma. Productivity – 130-150 c/hectares at sugar content of juice of berries 20-24 of g/cm3 and acidity of 6-8 g/dm3. Optimum loading – to 40 eyes on a bush at a scrap on 3-4 peepholes. Bushes silnorosly, rod ripening the good.
The grade is characterized by field stability to mildyu, gray decay, oidiumu and maintains temperature fall to – 260S. According to preliminary data, the grade has the increased stability to a phylloxera.
It is recommended for the fresh use and preparation of high-quality dining rooms, sparkling and sweet white wines.

Gurzufsky pink (Muscat of VIRA x Magarach 124-66-26). Universal grade of early term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. The cluster average, sometimes is more than average, cylindrical or tsilindrokonichesky, winged, friable, average mass of 260 g. Berry average, roundish, dark red. Thin skin thin, elastic. Pulp fleshy and juicy. Taste pleasant, harmonious with strong muscat aroma. Productivity – 150 c/hectares, at sugar content of juice of berries 25-29 of g/cm3 and acidity of 6-7 g/dm3. Bushes silnorosly, rod ripening the good. Optimum loading – to 40 eyes on a bush at a scrap on 2-4 peepholes.
The grade is characterized by field stability to mildyu, gray decay, oidiumu and, according to preliminary data, has the increased stability to a phylloxera and a frost.
It is recommended for the fresh use (on flavoring qualities the Muscat Hamburg is close to a grade) and preparation of high-quality pink sweet wines.

Amateur (Antya of magarachskiya x Ala GOK). Table grade of average term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. A cluster average and round, conic, average density, average mass of 400 g, maximum – 600 g. Berry large, oval, black. In berry of 2-3 averages of a seed. The thin skin thin, at complete maturing isn’t felt when eating. Pulp fleshy-black. Taste pleasant, harmonious, with chocolate paslenovymi tones. Productivity – 120-150 c/hectares at sugar content of juice of berries 18 of g/cm3 and acidity of 6 g/dm3. Bushes silnorosly, rod ripening the good.
The grade is characterized by field stability to a phylloxera, mildyu, gray decay, oidiumu and maintains temperature fall to – 230S.
Tasting assessment of fresh grapes – 9,1 points.
Chocolate (Magarach 10-51-1 x Antya of magarachskiya). Table grade of average term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. A cluster big, conic and tsilindrokonichesky, average density, average mass of 700 g, maximum – 2500. Berry large, depending on a cultivation zone from oval to extended and from dark pink and henna-red to the almost black. In berry of 2-3 averages of a seed. Thin skin thin and strong. Pulp fleshy. Taste pleasant, harmonious, with chocolate tones. Productivity – 140-150 c/hectares at sugar content of juice of berries 16-18 of g/cm3 and acidity of 5-6 g/dm3. Bushes silnorosly, rod ripening good, optimum loading – to 60 eyes on a bush at a scrap on 6-8 eyes with obligatory adjustment throughout vegetation.
The grade is characterized by field stability to a phylloxera, mildyu, gray decay, oidiumu and maintains temperature fall to – 230S.
The grade has an excellent trade appearance and high transportability. It is recommended for long storage.

Livady’s muscat (Crimean pearl x Seyv Villar 20-366). Table grade of early term of maturing. Flower oboyepoly. A cluster large, branchy, leaky, average mass of 500 g, maximum – 800 g. Berry large, chartreuse, at complete maturing – golden, yaytsevidny, slaboodnobokorazvity. In berry 1-3 seeds. Thin skin thin, strong. Pulp fleshy. Taste harmonious with delicate muscat aroma. Productivity – 120-150 c/hectares at sugar content of juice of berries 17-18 of g/cm3 and acidity of 5-6 g/dm3. Bushes of average force of growth, rod ripening the good. Optimum loading – to 35 eyes at a scrap on 4-6 eyes.
The grade is characterized by field stability to a phylloxera, mildyu, gray decay, oidiumu and maintains temperature fall to – 210S.
Tasting assessment of fresh grapes – 9,5 points.
Years of work prior to industrial scales grades of Tsitronny Magaracha, Rubin of Golodrigi, Muskat Golodrigi, Danko, Chocolate, Bukovinka and others are multiplied.
In 2000 in a zone free from a phylloxera (The Kherson area the Genichesky area, Stokopani’s village) is organized by us industrial nursery on reproduction of steady grades of grapes, and in 2007-2008 matochnik of new grades on the area of 60 hectares here are put.
Summing up for the fifteen-year period, we with gratitude remember all who helped us and helps, showing interest to grades and our work, and as a guiding star we are served by lessons and memory of the Teacher and the Person – Pavel Yakovlevich Golodrige.
