Storage – the final stage of the engineering procedure, intended to provide safety of viability of seeds, forces of growth, their abilities amicably to sprout in field conditions, to realize genetic potential of a grade, to prevent a contamination, distribution of diseases and wreckers.
The most widespread reasons of deterioration of seeds in a storage time are self-warming, development of insects, pincers and microorganisms, negative influence of low temperatures because of the increased humidity, germination of seeds and another. Prevention of these negative phenomena is reached by the correct preparation of seeds, use of rational ways of their placement in warehouses, supports of an optimum mode of storage and continuous supervision over seeds. Storage of only those seeds which are finished on humidity to the standard level, cleared of the impurity being a source of self-warming (the vegetative remains, seeds of weeds, etc.) is allowed.
